British Columbia hosts the 2009 Holstein Canada Convention

April 1-5, 2009 was a busy week for Holstein enthusiasts from around the world! The province hosted the 2009 Holstein Canada AGM and National Convention. Featuring a show, sale, farm tours, and multiple banquets, it was an exciting time for the BC Holstein fraternity! A huge thanks to Chairman John Blair and his multitude of committees and volunteers for putting together an outstanding week! Another huge thanks to the many sponsors! Congratulations B.C.!! Well Done Holstein Breeders!!

Poelman & Wedgwood ~ Master Breeders 2009!

Two BC Holstein breeders will be recognized by Holstein Canada at the Master Breeder Banquet in Vancouver on April 3, 2009. The Poelman family of Sunny Vale Farms achieved Master Breeder status this year. While their neighbors, Ridley and Karen Wikkerink of Wedgwood Holsteins were awarded their second Master Breeder Shield. Congratulations to you all!

BC Holstein Spring Show Results!

86 head were presented to Judge Dale Bienert on February 7, 2008 at Chilliwack Heritage Park during the Annual BC Holstein Spring Show held in conjunction with John Deere Days. Judge Bienert selected Haanton Champion Chenille, the 4 Year Old exhibited by Stanhope-Wedgwood and T&L Cattle as his Grand Champion. She was followed by Brookvilla Jasper Aka as Reserve.The Junior Champions were awarded to Springbend Goldwyn Access, and Wedgwood Penelope Dundee. Complete results are available to download.

Blossomdairy & Cheam - New BC Master Breeder Herds

Congratulations to the Goertzens of Blossomdairy and the Epps of Cheam Holsteins on their recently announced Master Breeder Awards! Both of these families will receive their Master Breeder Shield, the highest honour bestowed by Holstein Canada, at the annual convention in London, Ontario, March 26-30, 2008.

Joe Taylor receives Honourary Membership in BC Holstein Branch

At the 2007 BC Holstein Branch AGM, Joe Taylor was recognized with an Honourary Membership Award for his lifetime of dedicated service to the BC Holstein Branch. Congratulations Joe!
